Ghanta Code of conduct!

So yesterday, I posted this funny meme on my high school whatsapp group. I thought it was hilarious and here's what happened next.

There were comments like:  "Land kartey hi detain hogaya",  "Modi can take a load lot than him" .
Now, now..don't be all grumpy. Even I have no idea what the second comment meant. Hogi koi angrezi say personal dushmani.

Now these would've well been light headed remarks, but it got me thinking about the insensitivity growing among us inspite of what went down yesterday in Gujarat, Delhi, Lucknow. We still continue to live in a bubble where, forgive my ancestors while I try to quote Salman Khan here. "Apna kaam banta, bhaad may jaaye Janta!"

How could we tolerate the hooliganism that was at par yesterday in Gujarat? Giving leverage to hooliganism. Wasn't that the kind of behaviour that encouraged riots back in 2002?

The moment AK entered there was a  spewn of rowdies raising black flags chanting," Modi! Modi!", who pelted stones at his car, breaking the windshield. Why didn't the police take an action against this hooligan behaviour? And we're talking about an ex-CM here. Isn't it under the jurisdiction of state police to do at least that? Should them being a supporter of a ruling CM justify their actions? Shouldn't violence in all forms be attended to by the police, especially when it involved attacking the vehicle of an ex-C.M. who comes in peace?

Anyway, AK took it all in. I don't know where he finds the courage to. But he just did.

He got down at a hospital inspecting the work done, which is reasonable considering his party wishes to contest against the ruling party in the Lok Sabha elections. Soon the security personnel meant for him disappeared. And he was detained by the police.

The conversation:

AK: Why am I detained bro?
Police: You broke the model code of conduct. No more than 20-30 vehicles. Shit just got real homie. Election Comission For The Win bitches!
AK: Huh? That couldn't be right.
Lemme call Bharti.
Yo Bharti! Shits ho gaya. Who put 20 vehichles behind my taxi dude. Saala itna donation aya kahan say?
Bharti: Ain't no such code bro. I googled. Ulluu banaoing!
AK: Oh teri! Thank God for Abhishek Bachhan man or these Modi guys would have been mere ass ki chutney banaoing.
Bharti: Totally man! Dostana FTW!

Back at the Police Station
AK: Police bhai, no such code man.
Police: Of course there isn't! Hahaha. We got you! We were getting so bored man, of  staying pretty and being the "model state". Saaheb shouldn't objectify us like that man. We're an Indian state too, you know. Anyway, you can go now.

AK was released within half an hour of being detained.
Official statement of Patan, District Collector was released to the press: "No code of conduct has been broken by AK."
Only NDTV chose to release this statement.
No media house showed the courtesy to report news as it was. They all sensationalized it.

The problem with the country is that a section (majority) of the media thinks it's their right to allow certain news bits to be broadcast-ed and the rest to keep it unto themselves.

And as Indians, we've always had a flair for drama. Hence news channels that show press releases, read documental proofs. Bore us. We want more. We want drama. We want to justify our own conscious that we are better than all this dumbassery that's been going on in the world. And hence we tend to watch these news channels that is all about sensationalism. So that we can go about our business saying , "Is country ka kuch nai ho sakta. Nautanki hy sab. "

You know what the irony is? The same segment will watch these channels and tweet stuff like, "Indian media lacks integrity" ,
"Indian media sucxs!", "
"Saala! Ye Arnab puchta kum thookta zyada hy."
Wait that last one was a genuine concern from the panelists on the show.
