Believe That Lie
Young eyes waited to grow up Change the world; Make it alright But, is it true? That a brother kills a brother A mother cries for her daughter That innocence lost, Meant turning against each other? That friendships ruined Meant despising the other? Growing up sounded So much fun, Among blushy giggles And careless puns. But, is it true? In the gardens we jump about Lay silent witness to Promises broken and words unspoken; Is it true? That love fades? That under Ray-ban shades Are tears un-shed. Then I'd much rather stay a child, Bedtime stories and happy families on a ride, Even if a disguise, I'd much rather Believe that lie!
